Mike Irving
PINEDALE — Services are pending for Mike Irving, 86.
Irving died Wednesday, March 23, 2011, in Gallup. He was born May 15, 1924, in Pinedale, into the Black Streak of Forest People Clan for the Edge Water People Clan.
Rollie Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Dan Laughing
CRYSTAL — Funeral services for Dan Laughing, 76, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, March 26, at Toh’Abe’l’ Full Gospel Church. The Rev. Hoskie Bryant will officiate. Burial will be in family plot, Milkwater, Ariz.
Laughing died March 18, 2011, in Flagstaff. He was born March 4, 1935, in Milkwater.
Survivors include his brothers, Johnny Laughlin Sr., Bennie Laughing, Kee Y. Laughing, Wilson Laughlin, Tommy E. Laughlin, Jonah Laughlin, Clarence Laughlin, all of Crystal; sisters, Minnie Laughlin, Lorraine (Lori) Laughlin, all of Crystal.
Laughing was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Frances W. Laughing; brother, Edward P. Laughlin; sisters, Gertie Laughing, Ella Mae Brown.
Pallbearers will be Mike Teller, Rendell Benally, Delfred Brown, Matthew Laughing, Bennie Laughing Jr., William Laughing.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Crystal Chapter House, following services.
Silver Creek Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Steven Mitchell
SHEEPSPRINGS — Funeral services for Steven Junior Mitchell, 68, will be 10 a.m., Saturday, March 26, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Shiprock. Herbert Clah will officiate. Burial will be in Sheepsprings Community Cemetery.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m., Saturday, March 26, at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Mitchell died Tuesday, March 22, 2011. He was born May 5, 1942, in Fort Defiance, into the Mountain Cove People clan for the Towering House People Clan.
Mitchell graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business at Brigham Young University. He was an active member of the Sheep Springs Community and served as Chapter President, Vice-President and as a member of the Sheepsprings Farm Board. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren, and his two dogs. He had a generous, loving spirit and will be missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his daughters, Melanie A. Mitchell, Robyn Mitchell Rockwell, Kimberly R. Mitchell; brothers, Melvin, David, Andrew, Calvin Nelson, Wayne Mitchell, Eugene Mitchell; sisters, Rosemary Mitchell, Shirley Nelson, Rosita Ute; five grandchildren.
Mitchell was preceded in death by his mother, Lorena Nelson; father, Fritz Mitchell; step-father, Andy Nelson; brother, Ernest Nelson.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Sheepsprings Chapter House, following services.
